I have been on a quest to find a perfect drugstore BB Cream. I just tried 6! Price ranged from $15 to $6. Ultimately I was looking for one that felt good on, offered light coverage and left me with a soft dewy look. See how they worked out below! They are listed from least favorite to favorite!

#6: First up is L'Oréal True Match Nude Tinted Serum, https://brandcycle.shop/s46fv

Price: $15

Shade Options

  • I used Light/Medium, 3-4

  • There are 14 shades available

  • L'Oréal has a really cool virtual try on tool. Use a live image of you and try on various shades. My results were spot on!

Skincare Ingredients

  • This product contains both hyaluronic acid and squalene

Texture

  • It felt like foundation on my skin

  • It felt sticky on my hands

  • Once applied it felt wet on my skin for some time and then after it was dry it was a little bit sticky

  • It felt a bit gritty/chalky on my skin. However, it does contain mineral pigments so that could explain the chalky feeling.

Coverage

  • L'Oréal considers this product to be foundation which is surprising because although it evened out my skin tone it provided almost no coverage

  • There was no dewiness at all

  • I was impressed with the staying power of this product

  • I did feel like it settled into my fine lines particularly around my eyes

Overall

  • I really wanted to like this one but it was my least favorite

  • It had very poor coverage and highlighted my fine lines

  • Looking at the picture I feel like I look a bit chalky

  • The shade match tool was very cool and my results were surprisingly accurate

#5 Next is Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint for Dry Skin, https://brandcycle.shop/sm1t7

Price: $15

Shade Options

  • I used shade Soft Beige 50

  • There are 10 shade available

  • Neutrogena offers a virtual try-on tool

Skincare Ingredients

  • Hyaluronic acid

Texture

  • This product wasn't sticky

  • Feels more like a foundation and less like a lotion

  • Had the same gritty/chalky feel that the L'Oréal had

Coverage

  • Coverage met my expectations

  • No dewy look

Overall

  • I was pretty disappointed in this one

  • The product claims to moisturize and plump but it did not

  • Coverage was pretty good and didn't settle into fine lines

#4 is e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, https://brandcycle.shop/acu7i

Price: $14

Shade Options

  • I used shade #3 light/medium

  • Comes in 12 shades

  • You can find your shade on the e.l.f website by plugging in the brand and shade of a foundation you wear or you can take a quiz. I took the quiz and it was accurate.

Skincare Ingredients

  • None

Texture

  • Felt a bit waxy on my hands

  • Felt a bit wet and waxy after applied

Coverage

  • Minimal coverage

  • VERY dewy

  • Very soft

Overall

  • I wasn't sure if I should even include this one as it's not marketed as a BB cream or foundation

  • After I applied I wasn't going to include but then when I looked at the after picture it actually looks really pretty

  • I don't think this would be a good product on it's own in the summer but might work in the winter

  • This could be great if mixed with another BB cream or foundation

#3 Almay Skin Perfecting Hydrating Tint, https://brandcycle.shop/nv07t

Price: $13

Shade Options

  • I used shade 120 Beige

  • Almay offers 8 shades for this product

Skincare Ingredients

  • Hyaluronic Acid

  • Squalene

Texture

  • Thickest of all the products I tried

  • It didn't feel as soft as I would like

Coverage

  • This product had great coverage

  • Provided the dewy look I was looking for

  • Coverage lasted all day

  • Didn't settle into fine lines

Overall

  • I would say this one was a winner!

  • I was really happy with the coverage

  • I really like how smooth it looked

#2 was an unexpected surprise and is Joah Perfect Complexion BB Cream, https://urlgeni.us/tEhoS

Price: $10

Shade Options

  • I used JBB 105/Light with cool undertones

  • Comes in 8 shades

Skincare Ingredients

  • Niacinamide

  • Hyaluronic acid

  • Malachite extract

Texture

  • Perfect texture

  • Felt very soft on

  • Very slight sticky feeling once dry

Coverage

  • Best coverage of all the products I tried

  • Product was very smooth

Overall

  • This product wasn't even on my list to try but I came across it in CVS but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise

  • Best coverage of all the products I tried

  • Slightly different skincare ingredients than the other products

#1, drum roll....Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator, https://brandcycle.shop/16ndb

Price: $6

Shade Options

  • I used Light/Medium

  • Comes in 9 shades

Skincare Ingredients

  • Hyaluronic acid

  • Squalene

Texture

  • Felt very thin on my fingers

  • Very, very slight stickiness once dry

  • Felt very soft

Coverage

  • Great coverage

  • Gave me the dewy look I wanted

Overall

  • This one was by far my favorite

  • It felt very thin when I was applying so I was surprised with the coverage

  • Totally met my expectations for coverage and dewiness

  • Price is impressive

  • I do wish there were more shades available but for only $6 you can mix shades

  • This product had an unusual smell; smelled slightly like playdough
